Story
The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living by carrying out assassinations for the highest pay
He soon meets his worthy rival in a tenacious British intelligence officer who tracks him down in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. The novel “The Day of the Jackal” is set in 1963 and concerns an assassination attempt on the then President of France Charles de Gaulle.
Remake of The Day of the Jackal (1973)
The series shifts the setting to the present era. In my opinion, the series is worth watching, especially because Eddie Redmayne’s performance as the killer is simply outstanding.
She also comes across very convincingly as someone who really knows about weapons and even in the action scenes shows strength, dynamism and quick decision making
He embodies his role in an incredibly versatile way, in one scene he is very natural and loving as a family man, in another scene he is totally calculating and cold, and you can totally believe it from his very differentiated facial expressions. The main female role of secret agent Bianca, on the other hand, is unfortunately a very flat role of a woman who can only strike and does not act subtly at all, in my opinion.
She also has unnecessary family scenes that completely distract from the actual plot
She is very ruthless, both towards her family and her sources, and has much more screen time than the Jackal, which unfortunately slows the tension more often. I find her plot too broad and her role too unlikeable to find the series 100% good.

But since Eddie’s acting is so great and the series is of an incredibly high aesthetic quality, with large shots of cities and landscapes and first-class James Bond-like music, I think it’s worth a watch. A new season of “Silo” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
